Welcome

Welcome to the Matlab CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import. This is a Matlab package that allows you to import and use CAPE-OPEN version 1.1 thermodynamic Property Packages inside Matlab, for thermodynamic and physical property calculations as well as thermodynamic phase equilibrium calculations.

This package does not implement any thermodynamics; it is merely the glue between existing CAPE-OPEN version 1.1 Thermodynamic Property Packages and Matlab. Various CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic Property Packages are available. For example, the free CAPE-OPEN flowsheet simulator COCO comes with a Property Package Manager called TEA.

Getting started

If you did not register the CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import tool with Matlab during installation, you can do so by running "Register with Matlab" from the start menu. This step is also required after installation of a new version of Matlab. This registration step will add a command to the pathdef.m configuration file.

Requirements

Matlab version 5.3 or higher must be installed and running on your system.

Matlab CAPE-OPEN Thermo Import allows for using CAPE-OPEN version 1.1 thermodynamics. It will therefore only cooperate with CAPE-OPEN thermodynamic Property Packages that support this CAPE-OPEN version.
